Unless you’re a Jewish youngster between the ages of 18 and 26 experiencing a no-charge Birthright Israel trip, getting to Israel has never been cheaper than it was earlier today, Monday, August 7.

Thanks to what El Al is calling a “third-party mistake”, those seeking a cheap flight to the Jewish state - including one man who reportedly bought 26 tickets - were only too happy to snap up tickets on Israel’s official airline after that error resulted in abnormally low prices.

In fact, according to the The New York Jewish Week, bargain hunters were able to purchase round-trip tickets for as little as $355.

According to El Al, despite the obvious error, the airline will honour those tickets which were advertised on Dan’s Deal’s, a travel website.

"I’m not going to speculate on why the tickets were so cheap, though it does seem likely that they forgot to include a fuel surcharge,” Dan wrote. “However the [Department of Transportation] has strict rules that prohibit airlines from charging additional fees after a ticket is issued or from cancelling paid tickets, so I do think that these tickets will be honored."
