Relatively Speaking -- a collective of three one-act plays by Woody Allen, Elaine May and Ethan Coen -- will premiere next fall on Broadway, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Coen will be making his Broadway debut with Relatively Speaking, which will be directed by John Turturro (Transformers, O Brother, Where Art Thou). The play is set to premiere in October.
The Oscar-winning writer and director was recently in Israel with his brother, Joel Coen, to receive the Dan David Prize (which is worth $1 million). The prize is awarded to renowned scientists and artists annually by Tel Aviv University. True Grit, the filmmakers’ latest film, received a whopping 10 Oscar nominations -- including Best Motion Picture of the Year and Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for newcomer Hailee Steinfeld. The remake of Gambit (which was written by the Coen Brothers) is currently filming in London. The movie stars Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz.
Meanwhile, Woody Allen was in France for the Cannes Film Festival. His latest film, Midnight in Paris, opened this year’s festival. The romantic comedy -- which is set in Paris -- stars Owen Wilson, Canadian Rachel McAdams and Adrien Brody. Allen’s next project stars Hollywood heavyweights such as Penelope Cruz, Alec Baldwin, Halifax-native Ellen Page and The Social Network’s Jesse Eisenberg.
