Indie hip-hop phenom, Mac Miller, made Forbes Magazine’s “30 Under 30: The Youngest Stars in the Music Business” list. The 19-year-old Pittsburgh native has had meteoric success over the last wee while, and he isn’t even signed to a major record label.

Miller released his debut album, Blue Slide Park, in November through the independent label Rostrum Records, which subsequently went to number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts in the US in its opening week. It’s the first time an independently released record debuted on the top spot since 1995’s Dogg Food by Tha Dogg Pound.

“Making history is super-cool. I still don’t think I necessarily ‘made it’ -- my whole thing is always, no matter where I get, to never be satisfied,” Miller told Forbes.

Well, one could safely aver that the lad has in fact “made it”, given the over 1.4 million followers on Twitter, over 1.6 million Facebook “Likes”, and an accumulated 200 million hits to his YouTube videos.

“I flood the internet with what I feel is quality content. I’m just looking for creative ways to get all that content out there. And just being reachable. Not necessarily sitting there and responding every tweet or every fan, but being a symbol of someone who doesn’t think that [he’s] anymore more special than anyone else,” Miller explained.

Other individuals that made the Forbes list include Drake, Lady Gaga, Adele, and Lil’ Biebs (a.k.a. Justin Bieber).
