James Franco to Pen Debut Novel
The actor/writer/grad student/artist/filmmaker/Oscar co-host will now be a published novelist.
Titled, Actors Anonymous, the book is evidently a fictionalized, yet semi-autobiographical examination of Franco’s life as an actor.
“Like James himself, this novel transcends categories,” said Amazon senior editor, Ed Park in an email to The New York Times.
Franco made his first foray into the literary world in 2010 writing, Palo Alto, a collection of short stories about California teenagers and misfits. It received mixed reviews from critics, some lauding it, whilst others had a more tepid reaction.
We wait with baited breath, to see if Franco’s prowess as an actor will likewise carry over to the rarified world of accomplished novelist. If you're curious and care to take a gander, Actors Anonymous will be published sometime in 2013.
This year, Franco will appear in a plethora of films, including a biopic of author C.K. Williams called Tar, and playing Hugh Hefner in Lovelace, the story of Deep Throat actress, Linda Lovelace.
