The fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed teen in Sanford, FL, has been the talk of media outlets and the public for over a month. Martin was murdered by neighborhood watch leader, George Zimmerman, forcing Twentieth Century Fox to pull all posters and trailers for their upcoming film entitled ‘Neighborhood Watch’ from Florida theaters.

The film’s teaser poster feature’s a signpost riddled with bullets and a shadowy figure in the center. Although the black figure in the poster is actually an extraterrestrial, the production company is aware of the sensitive situation and intends to alter their marketing materials.

“We are very sensitive to the Trayvon Martin case, but our film is a broad alien invasion comedy and bears absolutely no relation to the tragic events in Florida," Fox said in a statement.

"The movie, which is not scheduled for release for several months, was made and these initial marketing materials were released before this incident ever came to light.

"Above all else, our thoughts go out to the families touched by this terrible event."

Other than the title, ‘Neighborhood Watch’ has nothing in common with the Trayvon Martin case. The film starring Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, and Jonah Hill, and co-written by Seth Rogen, follows a group of suburban dads that stumble upon an alien invasion.

‘Neighborhood Watch’ is set for a July 27th release.
