Slash and Adam Levine Raise Homeless Youth Awareness
The Guns n’ Roses guitarist teams with Maroon 5’s Adam Levine to help the Los Angeles Youth Network
Slash has made it very easy to contribute to a cause he cares deeply for- The Los Angeles Youth Network (LAYN). All you have to do is download the new remix of his 2010 song, ‘Gotten’, now featuring Maroon 5 front man on vocals.
The Los Angeles Youth Network is a non-profit providing aid to more than 10,000 homeless and runaway youth living on the streets of Los Angeles. Their goal is to “keep these often neglected, abused and homeless youth off the street and provide them with the basic necessities of life such as safety, food, shelter, counseling and supportive services,” according to a statement.
The duo has also released a corresponding video that effectively gets the organizations’ powerful message across, featuring an all-star cast (Kristin Bauer from True Blood, Amanda Milchalka from Super 8, Clifton Collins Jr. from Traffic, Jacob Vargas from Next Friday, Sevier Crespo from Fast Lane and Judd Nelson from the 80’s) and an incredible solo courtesy of Slash himself.
“This video was created to make people take notice of the homeless teen epidemic which is rampant in L.A. as well as in the rest of the country,” explains Slash.
“The story in this video is just one scenario amid millions of potential situations happening at any given time in Los Angeles alone. Everybody involved with the making of this video selflessly donated their time and talents to this cause. I thank them with all my heart.”
All donations assist LAYN in continuing to keep homeless youth from being exploited or victimized.
