Paramount president Adam Goodman told The Hollywood Reporter that Transformers 4 -- the latest installment in the robot-filled franchise -- will be taking a “different direction.”

So does this mean that Shia LaBeouf, the star of the past three Transformers films, won’t be featured prominently in the the upcoming flick? Judging by what the actor told MTV News last year, the answer is likely no.

"I just don't think right now there's anywhere to take Sam," he told the outlet. "And it's not that I don't enjoy working with Michael. I love working with Michael. I would do any movie Michael wants to do. I just don't think there's anywhere to take it with Sam."

The 25-year-old actor has a number of projects coming up. He stars in this summer’s Lawless alongside Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce. LaBeouf is also co-starring in Robert Redord’s The Company You Keep.

Catch the trailer for Lawless below.
