When ‘Hunger Games’ star, Lenny Kravitz, was first approached about designing footwear for TOMS Shoes, he was a little apprehensive. He described the espadrilles as “shoes my mom would wear in the 70’s”, but his daughter (actress Zoe Kravitz) convinced him to take on the collaboration due to her love for the TOMS flats.

Obviously his daughter’s urging helped, but Kravitz ultimately decided to take the gig when he discovered that TOMS donates a pair of shoes to needy children for every pair sold.

Kravitz not only helped to design the shoes, he has also taken his affiliation with TOMS one step further. Kravitz now stocks TOMS shoes at his home for guests to wear when they visit. He has banned street shoes from his home, only permitting visitors to wear TOMS.

“No shoes in my house. I like to lay around the floors, and I have nice floor coverings and shags and sheepskins, and I don’t like bringing in things from the outside,” Kravitz says.

Kravitz’s TOMS slip-ons incorporate a series of different patterns he has chosen, including one print that features lyrics from his song ‘Let Love Rule’
