Drake & Lil Wayne Refuse to Pay $400k for Ditching Club Appearance
The rappers claim they were not even aware of the booking.
This is obviously just a matter of principle because I’m pretty certain Drake and Lil Wayne could scrounge up $400k no problem, but why cough over the money if you don’t believe you’ve done anything wrong?
Apparently, Imperial Entertainment Group is suing Lil Wayne and Drake for $432,337.50 for missing a scheduled club appearance. According to the rap superstars, they didn’t even know they were supposed to show up.
Drake and Lil Wayne insist they were never informed of the appearance, never signed a contract, and were never given papers to show up in court after the alleged incident in 2011.
The rappers are claim that Imperial Entertainment Group booked them through a third party that was not granted the authority to do so.
Logic tells me that this “third party” is pulling off the greatest rock n’ roll swindle of all time… or I suppose rap n’ roll swindle in this case. Promise for superstars to appear at the gig, take the money after it’s been “booked”, and then the company books it themselves.
Lil Wayne and Drake are hoping to have the judgment dismissed.
