Charlie Sheen Plans to Retire
The 'winning' actor says FX's 'Anger Management' will be his last project.
Charlie Sheen’s highly anticipated return to TV, ‘Anger Management’, will be his last acting gig, the controversial actor told New York Times.
In a recent conversation with the newspaper, the 46-year old actor shared that he wanted to dedicate the rest of his days to his five children.
“When I’m done with this business it’s just going to be about soccer games and amusement parks. And when this ends, I’m done. This is my swan song,” he said.
“I’ve been doing this 30 years. And there’s a lot more out there to do than make-believe, you know?” he added. “I mean, I’m grateful. I’ve got a dream life as a direct result of television, you know? But at some point you just get tired of wearing somebody else’s clothes, saying somebody else’s words and working in somebody else’s space.”
Sheen is very grateful for his opportunity to star in another television show after his very public firing on ‘Two and a Half Men’.
“You’re only supposed to have one hit show, unless you’re Kelsey Grammer,” he said.
Sheen may be discussing retirement already, but don’t expect him to disappear any time soon. His deal with FX states that ‘Anger Management’ will be renewed for an additional 90 episodes if the first 10 are successful… that’s about a total of 9 seasons on cable networks.
‘Anger Management’ premieres on FX June 28th.
