It has been nearly a year since the untimely death of Amy Winehouse, but blessedly, her musical legacy lives on. Not only was her posthumous album, 'Lioness: Hidden Treasures' released in 2011, now a new single featuring Winehouse and rapper Nas has premiered, called “Cherry Wine”. The new single is from Nas’ forthcoming album Life is Good. Previously, the pair had collaborated on “Like Smoke”, a track from Lioness.

"We don't even have an explanation for how it happened. It was just magic. It just happened. It was supposed to happen. She made it happen," Nas said.

"Part of me didn't want to do the song… Amy and I share a birthday, so she was my sister. And she was just so much fun to be around. She would say things about well-known people in the industry that she didn't like and it would just crack me up… We were all hoping she would pull through and come back," the rapper told NME, regarding the ‘Like Smoke’ track.

Salaam Remi, who worked with Winehouse on both her albums, Frank and Back to Black, produced “Cherry Wine”.

"Amy is going to inspire a bunch of kids that aren't even born yet -- the same way she was inspired by Donny Hathaway, or Billie Holliday, or many different artists that came and passed away before she was born. At the end of the day, what she's been able to do in her musical legacy is going to last very long. And someone will be inspired," Remi opined shortly after Winehouse’s death.

Life is Good, which features other collaborations with the likes of Drake, Mary J. Blige, and Heavy D is set for release on July 17th. Take a listen to “Cherry Wine” below.
