“Two and a Half Men’s” Chuck Lorre Selling Book of Vanity Cards
Lorre to release new coffee table book for charity
Chuck Lorre, creator of countless hit sit-coms including ‘Two and a Half Men’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’ plans to release a coffee table book featuring the title cards he includes at the end of his shows.
Simon & Schuster announced on Wednesday that Lorre’s new book, entitled “What Doesn’t Kill Us, Makes Us Bitter” would be released in October. The novelty item will sell for $100, with all proceeds benefitting the Dharma-Grace Foundation, an organization established by Lorre in 1999 to support free medical care facility, Venice Family Clinic.
All of the title cards appearing in the book are already available for free on Lorre’s website, but the published item supports a worthy cause.
During the Chuck Lorre-Charlie Sheen feud after Sheen’s firing from ‘Two and a Half Men’, audiences became much more interested in Lorre’s end of episode title cards.
One title card famously read “I exercise regularly. I eat moderate amounts of healthy food. I make sure to get plenty of rest. I see my doctor once a year and my dentist twice a year. I floss every night. I've had chest x–rays, cardio stress tests, EKG's and colonoscopies. I see a psychologist and have a variety of hobbies to reduce stress. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I don't have crazy, reckless sex with strangers… If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I'm gonna be really pissed.”
