Lea Michele & ‘Glee’ Cast to Cover ‘Call Me Maybe’ in Season 4 Premiere
New Directions will sing the hit summer song by Carly Rae Jepsen
It is no surprise that ‘Glee’s’ New Directions intend to cover the hit summer track ‘Call Me Maybe’ by Carly Rae Jepsen. Why wouldn’t they? Everyone else and their cousin has either covered or danced on YouTube to the catchy ditty including (but definitely not limited to) Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, the U.S Olympic swim team, and the Harvard Baseball team.
In the season four premiere entitled ‘The New Rachel’, set to air on September 13th, the Glee club deals with their reduced membership since the original cast has graduated.
“The New Rachel” will also include Adele’s hit song, “Chasing Pavements”.
The Hollywood Reporter recently spoke with ‘Glee’ co-star, Darren Criss, who shared that the new season of ‘Glee’ will feature “popular summer songs”.
"There will be some songs that feel like this is not a surprise at all… Just do the math, popular summer songs, and then you hear them and you're like oh yeah. This really isn't shocking," Criss told The Hollywood Reporter.
Up until this point, very little information has been released regarding the newest season of the hit teen song-and-dance show. We know many of the original cast members will be returning although they’ve graduated. And now we know we will be subjected to yet another version of “Call Me Maybe”.
