Age: 25

Los Angeles-based, Israeli-born fashion designer, Yotam Solomon, has dressed some of Hollywood’s best including Nikki Reed, Stacy Keibler, Christian Serratos, and Kim Kardashian with his unique brand of environmentally sustainable avant-garde clothing.

A viola prodigy from a very young age, Solomon moved to Los Angeles while in high school to pursue his music. After receiving the National Orchestra Award in 2005, he switched gears and attended FIDM for Fashion Design.

“I'm a pro Viola player and grew up studying classical music in misc art schools. Being that I'm not a composer, fashion allows me to express my current thoughts and beliefs. Growing up, fashion was very natural for me and conceptual thinking came easy for me and during high-school I decided to enroll into FIDM in LA and I'm happy to say I made a great decision,” Solomon shares.

In 2007, Solomon launched the YOTAM SOLOMON fashion brand, geared towards eco-friendly high-fashion, which he describes as “wearable Avant-Garde, each design and collection has a meaning behind it, fit perfectly, and made with a stylish ease.”

The youngest designer to ever show at Fashion Week, Solomon has been featured in countless magazines including VOGUE, LA Magazine, Bello, and Cliché.

Solomon’s passion for the environment does not stop at the materials he uses. After the BP Oil Spill in 2010, Solomon launched the “Oil Spill collection” that raised awareness and funds for the disaster. Additionally, Solomon teamed up with Dasani to create a collection of handmade dressed made from live plants and florals. The dresses received internal media coverage, and E! Entertainment named Solomon a ‘Super-Star designer.”

Solomon has already accomplished an incredible amount at his young age, and intends to continue doing so for years to come. He looks forward to “Doing more development project for fibers, sustainably manufacturing and processing. I have many collections that I'm looking forward to creating.”

He also looks forward to “developing new techniques and materials for my fashion collection that use better environmental ethics and cutting the huge carbon foot-print found in fashion. By doing so contributing to global manufacturing and making a better, healthier planet for all of us.”

Solomon’s Jewish heritage is important to him, explaining that he includes some of that influence in his designs.

“It plays a huge part of my life, it's important for me to share the heritage with others and include features of my religious and background within my work. There is much that I enjoy sharing with others on a regular basis, while being inspired by other religions and backgrounds.”
