The Bachelor 2012: Mel and Nathaniel Go Bowling!

The Bachelor 2012: Tall, Dark, and Jewish is unfortunately coming to an end. Only one more set of dates before our winner is announced!

After the incredibly difficult decision of narrowing the Top 6 down to 3, Nathaniel had to make yet another challenging choice; which lucky ladies will be in the top 2?

Over the past couple weeks, Nathaniel joined the Top 3 ladies for enjoyable activity dates; rock climbing with Tania, ping pong with Ilona, and bowling with Mel. He had an unforgettable time with all three, but after careful consideration, one girl was sadly eliminated.

With the help of matchmaker, Alison Green, Nathaniel has chosen to go on his final two dates with… (drum roll)…

Congrats girls. One of you will soon be heading to Israel for a once-in-a-lifetime ‘get-to-know-you’ trip with our Bachelor.

Shalom Life, UJA’s Community Connect, and El Al Airlines are happy to share with you Nathaniel and Mel’s thoughts about their urban bowling adventure.

Mel

My second date with Nathaniel was at the Ballroom Bowling Alley, and was a lot of fun! We started off the night with dinner. Luckily, Nathaniel and I share a taste for the finer things in life and shared a giant plate of nachos to start off! The food was good and the conversation was even better as I heard about our jet-setter's fantastic summer abroad. It was nice to be able to live vicariously through Nathaniel and the amazing things he's been involved in. It was great to catch-up after a very busy few months for the both of us!

Then on to the bowling...who knew our Bachelor was such the expert bowler?! Nathaniel dominated the bowlilng segment of our evening, scoring a very impressive 124 (a personal 2nd best). I came in second with a score of 93, which is by far the best I've ever scored! I give kudos to my excellent coach ;)

I was not sure what to expect from a downtown bowling alley. I am use to those tacky florescent locations where you spend half your time finding balls to play with. I was nervous when Mel informed me she had played there a week before. I was wondering if she had brought her own bowling shoes too?!

I was pleasantly surprised to see the venue had a great ambiance, great tunes in the background and really slick bowling lanes and comfy leather couches.

I knew we were off to a fun night when the hostess had no idea if we had to wait anywhere between 30 minutes to 4 hours for a table! Mel and I took matters into our own hands and luckily we located a table outside. We seem to have good luck with patios on our dates! We had the best nachos Toronto has to offer. So far, between the Sangria on our first date and the nachos here, we have been on an enjoyable food fest together! We were feeling all pumped and ready to have our go at bowling.

Mel was able to find her lucky ball - or should I say the lucky ball found Mel - and she would literally wait for this one ball on her turn and… it worked! Mel scored well into the 90’s, I was impressed! I was still just trying to figure out my lead-in run up to bowl! I definitely have not mastered the leg cross at the end though. Mel is super caring and considerate and there is always a lot for us to talk about. Conversations flowed naturally and covered many topics and we had fun. It was a really great second date.
