The Zareinu Educational Centre of Metropolitan Toronto is encouraged by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services’ decision to issue a request for proposals (RFP) seeking partners who will look at organizations like Zareinu to develop a better understanding of providers of services for children with developmental and physical challenges and to explore opportunities for government partnership.

Zareinu Educational Centre provides treatment for children with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, cognitive delays and many other disorders. For over 20 years, Zareinu has been providing integrated multi-disciplinary services for these boys and girls. By designing individual programs, Zareinu aims to meet the unique therapeutic needs of each child.

The RFP is an invitation to prospective proponents to deliver a report on coordinated and integrated multi-disciplinary services to children with special needs in an educational setting. The Proponent will study up to three organizations in Ontario that specialize in coordinated and integrated programs for children with special needs in an educational setting, and prepare a report summarizing the study, as well as an inter-jurisdictional scan and literature review of other similar service models relevant to Ontario.

“The process that the government is embarking upon now could help shape government policy towards our organization and others who share in the critical role that we play in caring for children with developmental challenges,” said Danny Gordon, Chair, Board of Directors, Zareinu. “This is the right process and we’re happy that the government has recognized the value of conducting such a study.”

“I’m very pleased to hear that the government is proposing to study treatment programs at facilities such as our community’s Zareinu,” said Thornhill Liberal Candidate Bernie Farber. “I have been a tireless advocate for Zareinu and will advocate for them to be considered for this important study.”
