Canada responsible for removal of 1967 lines reference at G8

Canadian Prime Minster Stephen HarperPic: NILLAccording to an anonymous source quoted by Reuters, references to the 1967 lines in terms of a future border in the Middle East, was removed from a G8 summit statement after a request made by Canada.
"The Canadians were really very adamant, even though Obama expressly referred to 1967 borders in his speech last week," an unnamed European diplomat told Reuters.
Canada’s request comes in the wake of the speech made earlier this month made by U.S. President Barack Obama, calling for the 1967 lines – with mutually agreed upon swaps – to form the basis of a border between Israel and a Palestinian state.
